Mod 12 Vid Review

Uncertainty Modernity and Art
Modern art in the 20th century portrays chaos and uncertainty. In this video it talks about the works of Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian and Le Corbusier.  It shows how modern art with modern life changed first with the rise of Abstract Expressionism, then with Pop Art. It also tells how the Nazis tried to eliminate modern art with some ideas of their own.

Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art
Abstract Expressionism was made from mixing American art and European art. It was rejected for its nonfigurative and strange character in favor of Pop Art. Pop art presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular culture such as advertising, news, etc...

I chose these videos because they seemed the most interesting to me. They were interesting and provided me with new insight into these different types of art.
